Self Portraits Project
The kids had a blast making their self portraits in class yesterday. I love using our multicultural paper and markers for projects such as this. This photo just makes me smile. They were so excited to have the picture taken on the front steps of school. I told the kids to "SAY CHEESE" and sure enough they did with great enthusism! What a fun first grade moment it was!
Our current chapter in Religion focuses on God's love for us being the greatest gift of all. We shared a scripture story of the children who came upon Jesus while walking along a path. Jesus said, "Let the children come to me." Mark 10:14. The kids practiced this verse for handwritng today and they did a beautiful job. Copying from the board is a huge skill in itself for a first grader. They then glued their beautiful writing on to the back of their self portraits.
